Advocacy

Heart Children works to provide guidance, advocate for improvements in care and promote opportunities for our members.

• We are members of the All-Island CHD Network and co-chair the Family Engagement Group which reports to the board of the Network on issues that affect families, both north and south of the border, who attend CHI Crumlin.

• We work with Children in Hospital Ireland, the organisation working to bring about improvements in the care and supports available to children and families in hospital.

• We promote and develop the work of the Heart Children Youth Council – a group of teens with CHD – who meet regularly to share their experiences and discuss issues relevant to their condition.
